Rescue Your Legacy Software: Modernizing Corporate And State Legacy Systems | PRLog – 21. April, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PRLog (Press Release) – Feb 02, 2012 – Vienna, VA — Out with the old and in with the new??.?

?The United States has seen its fair share of the technological revolution.? ?such that this modern era is aptly called the Age of Information? ?Technology.?

?But how far ahead? ?are we,? ?really?? As it turns out,? ?many? ?of the most effective systems that managed our healthcare,? ?social benefits,? ?law enforcement,? ?administrative programs and even our military operations way back in the? ?1960?’?s to the late? ?1990??s,? ?are meeting their technological demise very soon.? The End-of-life cycle of a technology may sound foreboding or downright gloomy? (?remember? ?the Year? ?2000? ?crisis,? ?or? ?Y2K?)?,? ?but it does not mean we are going to throw all our aging systems out of the window.?

?We also dont expect our decades of compiled data to disappear when? ?the? ?date of retirement? ?for those systems? ?arrives.?

We can take the proactive approach of having the right resources in place while there is still time,? ?if and when a transition to newer hardware or software systems may be necessary,? ?or we can take the passive? ?(and very much more expensive?) ?stance of waiting for disaster to confront us,? ?before we move.? The choice is ours. Where the Problem Lies In the present case,? ?here are a few areas where some legacy or aging systems? (?listed in no particular? ?order?) ?are still being used: a.?

?State Financial Management Systems b.? ?Educational Support Systems c.? ?Child Welfare and Human Resources d.? ?Health Care and Insurance Software Applications e.?

How To Save Money On Your Car’s Fuel Expense – 17. October, 2011

The United States does not have an effective system for mass transport, so the people in this country need to drive cars instead. Gas prices are soaring, for many reasons, be they just supply and demand, wild speculation, or just simple avarice on the oil companies’ part. Some suggestions on how to spend less on oil therefore comes in useful. Saving a bit here and a bit there soon adds up.

Having a car that’s fuel-efficient is the most evident way you can save on gas, like a sedan, or a hybrid, if you can afford it. Nonetheless, even with gas-guzzlers, there are ways to use less gasoline, including driving more slowly and not accelerating quickly. The more you depress the gas the more gas is burned, so make a habit of free-wheeling and letting the automobile’s momentum carry it forward. There are many small ways that can keep gas in your tank for longer.

Make sure use the grade of fuel determined for your automobile. Premium fuel, for example, costs more but will benefit only certain cars, so don’t waste money here if your car is not one of them. Removing unnecessary weight from a vehicle and keeping to slower speeds saves a surprising amount of fuel. Driving at a fast speed means more air must be transplaced and that drag climbs up, which all means a diminution in fuel efficiency. Aside from being safer, driving at slower speed will save you money.

One piece of extra weight you can take out so you can save fuel, unless you need it to transport something, is a roof rack. Fuel consumption is affected not just by the weight, but by the increased drag produced by roof racks as well. It may not save you a big amount, but there is no reason to lug around excess weight in your trunk without it being a necessity. Because fuel prices are not likely to decrease much, your only alternatives seem to be are to look for alternative sources, slashing how much you use, or simply live with the price hikes without doing anything. Almost all people appear to be fine with doing things the way they always have, pay the higher fuel prices, and possibly complain every now and then.

Many people are beginning to purchase more fuel-efficient cars, but that’s it. Others who can’t afford the other two alternatives, are the ones most likely to do whatever they can to save gasoline. Possibly one of these days, with enough education, everyone will understand that conserving oil is a wonderfil idea. If every person would simply slow down when driving, the highways would be safer, cleaner, and money would be saved.
